Real Name: Warren Worthington III.
One of the founding members of the X-Men, mutant billionaire playboy Warren Worthington III possessed large feathery wings that protruded from his shoulder blades. Although the wings allowed him to fly, the could also prove to be inconvenient, as he was forced to wear an uncomfortable harness to strap his wings down in order to fit in with regular humans. During the Morlock massacre in the sewers of New York, Worthington’s wings were badly punctured by Harpoon, necessitating their amputation. Soon after, he was captured by Apocalypse, who grafted metal wings to Worthington’s back, turned his skin blue and transformed him into the horseman Death.
