Archangel

Real Name: Warren Worthington III

See also Angel, Death.

After having his feathered wings destroyed by Harpoon during the Morlock massacre in the sewers beneath New York City, the X-Man known as Angel was targeted by Apocalypse to become one of the four Horseman. Apocalypse grafted large metallic wings to Worthington's back and turned his skin blue before sending him out to lead the Horsemen, although the X-Men were soon able to rescue and de-program their teammate. In the aftermath of the final battle with Onslaught, Worthington's metal wings surprisingly molted away, revealing a new set of feathered wings underneath. Although he is once again a hero with his feathered wings once again intact, Worthington has insisted on keeping the name Archangel to remind him of how far he once fell.

Worthington's metal wings were designed to be able to release razor-sharp "feathers", which were tipped with a powerful paralyzing agent. Worthington was able to fly with either set of wings, and some have theorized that he has thin hollow bones like that of a bird.

Worthington has short blonde hair and blue skin. He is a reserve member of the X-Men, and a former member of the Champions and X-Factor. Worthington is a multi-millionaire.

Clones, Dopplegangers, Robots etc.

A duplicate of Worthington was created by Mojo to act as a member of the X-Babies. The copy is eerily similar to Worthington, with the exception being his age, which seems to be somewhere between four and eight. The X-Baby Archangel can presumably fly in a similar fashion to Worthington himself.
